The Saints have completed the signings of Ryan Whelan & Liam Cheyne.
The duo, who both played for Saints before, made their first start on Saturday in the 2-1 win at home to Fraserburgh Utd, both providing the crosses leading to the goals. Liam with the first before being sent off, and Ryan crossed with only 3 minutes remaining to secure the win.
We caught up with all parties to get their thoughts.
Delighted to be back. As soon as the opportunity arose to return there was only one club for me. I felt I had to re pay Ewan’s faith in me. There’s a great squad here and if everything gels together, the silverware will follow.
Delighted to be back at Banchory St Ternan after a few years away. The club means a lot to me as they were my first loan move from Cove Rangers and I then went on to sign for Banchory a couple of years later. There is a great bunch of lads here at the moment and I’m glad to be onboard to help push for Promotion
The Saint’s boss was equally happy with the signings
Two great signings for us at this time of the season. I was keen to get them both in before they signed for Culter so getting them in now is an unexpected bonus. I worked with Ryan before, he’s strong, very professional and fits our dressing room, as does Liam. Ryan will bolster our attacking options while also helping the younger players. Liam was here on loan last season and gives us a bit of balance at left back. They’ll both play big parts in what we’re trying to achieve with the club and they’ll hopefully be here for a while.
Welcome back to the Saints, lads.
