Saints bring in young goalkeeper.
Riley Cooper, from Braemar has joined the club on a 2 year deal. The 16 year old trained with the Saints towards the end of last season and also did preseason, impressing the management team.
Riley, who played for Banchory Boys Club, is delighted to become a Saint
It’s an honour to represent such a great club and to have signed for them. We have a great group of players. Joining the club and fitting in to the dressing room energy is a great feeling. I’m so happy to have signed and I’m looking forward to a future with the Saints.
The gaffer was equally as happy.
He’s a great lad to work with and his enthusiasm is catching. He’s ahead of his years and if he keeps up the hunger to learn he’s got a big future in front of him. He’s got all the attributes we’re looking for in a keeper. It’s also great to see a him step up from the Boy’s Club, which shows there’s a pathway there for the local lads if they are good enough. A good link with the young squads is something i’ve been keen to get in place and hopefully Riley is the first of many youngsters who can make the step up into the side.
He’s sponsored by Craig Stephen Joinery!
Welcome to the Club, Riley.
